EDUCATION

Education is the most constant variable in economic stability by means of increased income outside of marital status and this increase in income directly influences the amount individuals are able to spend on housing expense.  The goal is to apply this knowledge to educating single mothers by providing them with affordable housing so they can use these savings in housing expense as an opportunity to complete a post-secondary education.

HOUSING

Housing is a family’s highest monthly expense typically accounting for upwards of a third of a family’s income (Economic News Release, 2015).  Poverty’s limitation on such spending determines where families can afford to live, and has a direct effect on which neighborhoods become the most desirable and beautiful places to call home.  We provide affordable housing for single mothers and their children so their largest expense can be reduced and they can direct more attention to reaching their educational goals. 

JOB PLACEMENT

Women participating in the program will be able to utilize our assistance in finding a compatible job during their time in school through one of the many employers in our network.  After graduation we will help find the best fitting job for each of our mothers so they can engage in a career that their degree has led them. 

HOME BUYING

At the conclusion of a woman's participation in our program she will have the option of moving forward with homeownership.  If deemed appropriate for the family, we will hold a financial counseling session and then facilitate the purchase of a home for her and her children.
